## Menu music

The menu music (Gyan's ask 2026-11-04: "put some nice GTA-type music in the landing and car selection"): one
`loop` that starts on the landing with the player's first click / tap / key, plays on through the garage card and
fades out on Chalo (`src/game/menuMusic.js`, App.vue; the 🔊 / 🔇 chip = `chairdrive.menuMusic`). All are real CC0
recordings from Freesound, played as recorded — only cut, faded and levelled. Fetched only after that first gesture.

| File | Source | Author | Licence | What it is |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| `loop-0.mp3` | [790934 — "Into The Night \| Indian Drill Instrumental"](https://freesound.org/people/kontraamusic/sounds/790934/) | kontraamusic | [CC0 1.0](https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/) | Indian drill: sliding 808s, rattling hi-hats, half-time snare, an Indian-style lead in F harmonic minor (F G Ab C with E - the Hijaz / Bhairav-like turn). The full beat section, skipping the 8-bar melody-only intro; two short 808 drop-outs inside (as made). Dark, late-night, swaggering - the most "GTA" of the desi ones. CAVEAT: the uploader is a sync-licensing publisher (Kontraa Studio / UKA Music Publishing LLC, with a publisher IPI and a DDEX party ID on its profile); this upload is CC0, but its later uploads switched to CC BY-NC and its catalogue may be registered with YouTube Content ID - a player's gameplay video with this on the menu could get an automatic claim (disputable, since CC0 can't be withdrawn, but a nuisance). That is why it is B, not A. (loop 13.71–54.86 s; Gyan's pick 2026-11-04, A/B loop B) |

Licence checked on each sound's Freesound page (all show "Creative Commons 0") — or a CC0 pack's own licence file
(Kenney.nl, OpenGameArt.org) — when the A/B set was
made (design/…-ab/README.txt; the A/B sets are local only, never shipped).

**Edits made** (`sox` + `lame`, from each sound's Freesound HQ preview MP3; no pitch, EQ or other processing): the
**loop** is a stretch cut where the end joins the start (on a bar), the seam cross-faded (equal power), levelled,
44.1 kHz, 128 kbps MP3 (stereo kept); the game crossfades the seam again (synth.buildSeamlessLoop).
