## Musical horn recordings

Our truck's musical horn (Gyan's ask 2026-11-04: "a nice musical truck horn, like Indian musical truck horn
sounds"): the `tune` starts the moment the horn is pressed and loops while it is held (a tap = its first toot) —
on our truck and any truck / bus we drive (`EngineAudio.hornDown`, `synth.HORN_REC`). All are real CC0 recordings
from Freesound, played as recorded — only cut, mono and level; the melodies are plain horn patterns, not songs.
Loaded with the drive voices (`prefetchHorn()`).

| File | Source | Author | Licence | What it is |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| `tune-0.mp3` | [371450 — "Klakson Telolet (Indonesian Big Bus Custom Horn)"](https://freesound.org/people/redafs/sounds/371450/) | redafs | [CC0 1.0](https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/) | A custom multi-trumpet bus horn (an Indonesian 'telolet', the closest real cousin of an Indian truck's musical horn): one fast E-F#-G# trill phrase with its opening chord, loud and clean - shipped as demo A7. (6.78–9.36 s; Gyan's pick 2026-11-04, A/B tune A (demo A7)) |

Licence checked on each sound's Freesound page (all show "Creative Commons 0") when the A/B set was
made (design/…-ab/README.txt; the A/B sets are local only, never shipped).

**Edits made** (`sox` + `lame`, from each sound's Freesound HQ preview MP3; no pitch, EQ or other processing): one
phrase cut out with the gap before the next one (so it loops with the horn's own breath), downmixed to mono at
44.1 kHz, 5 ms fade-in / 40 ms fade-out, levelled (loudest 100 ms RMS → −14 dBFS, peak ≤ −1 dBFS), 96 kbps mono MP3.
The game skips the MP3's leading padding (`synth.leadIn`) so the horn sounds on the press.
